# Attio

> Sync your Attio companies and people into Lane as customers, and capture feedback from inside Attio - on records and straight out of call transcripts.

Lane's Attio integration keeps your product team working from the same customer data your revenue team lives in. It syncs companies and people from Attio into Lane as [Customers](/customers) — so feedback carries real account context like value and tier — and it puts a Lane widget on Attio records so anyone can see a customer's open requests and send new feedback without leaving Attio.

Available on **Pro**.

<Note>
Lane syncs your Attio customer data **once a day**. To sync sooner, click **Sync now** on the Attio settings page. New Attio notes still come in within seconds.
</Note>

## Connect

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Attio**.
2. Click **Connect** and authorize access to your Attio workspace via OAuth.

Once connected, the page shows your Attio workspace and connection date. You can disconnect anytime from the same page.

Connecting doesn't import your CRM in bulk — see [Keeping data in sync](#keeping-data-in-sync) for how records actually make it into Lane.

## What syncs

Lane imports Attio **companies** as customer accounts and Attio **people** as their contacts, tagging each with **Attio** as its source. Sync is **one-way** — from Attio into Lane; changes you make in Lane aren't pushed back. Because Attio is the source of truth, fields mapped from Attio are locked in Lane (unmapped fields stay editable).

## Field mapping

Field mapping lives on its own page — **Settings → Integrations → Attio → Edit field mapping**. For each Lane field, pick the Attio attribute that feeds it.

**Company fields:** Name, Domain, Size, Revenue Impact, Renewal Date, Status, Tier.<br />**Person fields:** Name, Email, Role.

For **Renewal Date**, pick the date or timestamp attribute on the company that holds it. Lane then fills in each customer's [renewal date](/customers#renewal-dates) on every sync. A date changed in Attio updates Lane; a date cleared in Attio leaves Lane's date as it was.

### Value mapping

For **status** and **tier**, Attio's select values are mapped to your Lane status and tier options, so a CRM value lands as the right Lane value. Values you haven't mapped yet are surfaced on the mapping page so nothing syncs into a blank field silently.

## Keeping data in sync

Attio is **feedback-first**: connecting or saving your field mapping does *not* pour your whole Attio workspace into Lane. Instead:

* **New customers arrive automatically the moment they show up in feedback.** When a note or piece of feedback mentions a company or person, Lane creates the customer record from Attio at that point — you don't need to import first.
* **Save & Refresh** (the mapping page's save button) only re-enriches customers Lane already has — matched by Attio record ID, or by domain for accounts that arrived from another source. It never creates or deletes records.
* **Import customers**, on the Attio settings page, is the explicit full backfill: it brings every Attio company and person into Lane as a customer and keeps them in sync going forward. Use it if you want your whole CRM in Lane rather than customers arriving as feedback comes in.

You can trigger a refresh anytime with **Sync now** on the Attio settings page, which shows **Syncing…** while it runs. **Save & Refresh** saves your mapping, starts a refresh and takes you back to that page.

If a company or person is deleted in Attio, Lane keeps it but marks it as no longer synced: its source changes to **manual**.

## Capture feedback

### Record widget

The **Lane requests** widget appears on Attio company and person records, showing that customer's most recent requests and their status (people also see requests linked to their company). A **Send feedback to Lane** action — on the record page and in the ⌘K command palette — opens a form to send new feedback without leaving Attio.

**Setup:** the widget needs a token to talk to Lane. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Attio → Record widget → Generate token** (Pro+). Copy the token shown, then paste it into the Lane app's connection inside Attio (**Settings → Apps → Lane → Connections** in your Attio workspace — Lane's settings page links straight there). **Regenerate token** invalidates the previous one, so re-paste it in Attio after regenerating.

### Call-transcript highlight-to-send

On an Attio call-recording transcript, highlight any text and choose **Send to Lane** to open the same feedback modal, pre-filled with the highlighted passage and a link back to the transcript. Pick the **Customer** it's about (not pre-selected from a transcript, since a transcript isn't tied to one record), add a **Title** and **Details**, and send.

### Capture notes automatically

Under **Capture notes** in the Attio settings, set **Mode** to **Automatic (AI-powered)** and new Attio notes come into Lane as [feedback](/insights) automatically. Like other automatic sources, notes go through an AI filter so only genuine product feedback is kept, and each one is linked to the customer the note sits on, creating that customer from Attio if Lane doesn't have it yet. Mode is **Off** by default.

To bring in notes you already have, use **Import notes**. It's a one-time import and works whatever the Mode is set to.

## Permissions Lane requests

Lane's Attio integration is **read-only with respect to your Attio data** — it reads records, notes, and (only when you choose to send one) a call-transcript highlight. It never writes to your records or changes your object configuration. The one write permission it uses is to manage its own webhook subscription.

| Permission | Access | Why Lane needs it |
| :- | :- | :- |
| Record data | Read | Read companies and people to enrich Lane customers with revenue and tier, and to attribute notes and feedback to the right customer. |
| Object configuration | Read | List your objects and attributes so you can map Attio fields to Lane fields during setup. |
| Notes | Read | Bring Attio notes into Lane as feedback when **Capture notes** is set to Automatic, or when you use **Import notes**. |
| Meetings (call recordings) | Read | Call recordings and their transcripts live under meetings in Attio. When you highlight a passage in a call transcript and choose **Send to Lane**, Lane reads that selected transcript text. |
| Webhooks | Read & write | Register and remove Lane's own webhook subscription so new notes flow into Lane as they're written. Lane manages only its own subscription. |

Sync is one-way - from Attio into Lane. Lane does not write back to your Attio records.

## FAQs

**Q: Which plans include Attio?**<br />A: Pro. Starter workspaces see an upgrade prompt.

**Q: Does connecting Attio import my whole CRM?**<br />A: No. Attio is feedback-first — customers arrive automatically when they appear in feedback, or all at once if you click **Import customers**. Connecting and saving your mapping only refresh customers Lane already has.

**Q: How often does Lane sync with Attio?**<br />A: Once a day, in the background, for every mapped field. To sync right away, click **Sync now** on the Attio settings page or save your field mapping. Notes are the exception: with **Capture notes** set to **Automatic**, a new note comes in within seconds.

**Q: Can I edit an Attio-synced field in Lane?**<br />A: Fields mapped from Attio are locked to keep the CRM as the source of truth. Unmapped fields stay editable.

**Q: How do I bring in Attio notes?**<br />A: Set **Capture notes** to **Automatic (AI-powered)** for new notes, and use **Import notes** once for the ones you already have.

**Q: What happens if I disconnect?**<br />A: Previously synced records stay in Lane, but updates and future syncs stop until you reconnect.
