The Lane Chrome extension captures feedback straight from your browser — a customer forum, a review, a shared doc, an internal tool — without copy-paste or switching tabs. What you capture lands in Lane as [Feedback](/insights), linked to the right [customer](/customers) when you add their email.

## Set up

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Chrome Extension** and install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Generate an [API key](/api-key) in Lane.
3. Paste the key into the extension to connect it to your workspace. The extension verifies the key before saving.

<Info>
  Keep your API key secure — it links the extension to your workspace. Create a dedicated key for the extension so you can revoke it independently.
</Info>

## Capture feedback

With text selected on a page, open the extension from your toolbar and it pre-fills the description from your selection. The form is simple:

* **Title** — a short summary.
* **Description** — the feedback (pre-filled from your selection, editable).
* **Customer Email** *(optional)* — add it and Lane links the feedback to that customer, matching the contact and grouping it under a company by domain.
* **Customer Name** *(optional)* — used alongside the email when creating a new contact.

Click **Capture feedback** and it's created in Lane with `source: Chrome`.

## FAQs

A: No — the extension opens either way. Selecting text just pre-fills the description.

**Q: Can I use it in more than one browser?**\
