Where your data lives

Lane hosts customer workspace data in the European Union (Frankfurt). Our core infrastructure is:

Encryption

  • In transit. All connections to Lane are encrypted with TLS. Traffic between our services and our infrastructure providers is likewise encrypted.
  • At rest. Data stored in MongoDB Atlas is encrypted at rest. Sensitive third-party credentials (such as the access tokens for your connected integrations) are additionally encrypted at the application layer using AES-256 before they are stored.

Access & isolation

  • Access to production systems is restricted to a small number of authorized Lane team members, and only for operating and supporting the service.
  • Authentication is handled by Clerk, a dedicated identity provider, which manages sign-in and user credentials - including passwords and Google sign-in.
  • Backups are retained in-region to preserve EU residency, and rolled off automatically after 7 days.

Sub-processors

A full list of the third-party providers that process data on our behalf - and the region each operates in - is on the Sub-processors page.
