Intelligence is Lane’s AI layer that helps you make better product decisions by assisting with analysis of customer feedback and requests. When enabled, Intelligence helps you summarize Insights, understand customer sentiment, and classify the type of Insight - reducing manual effort while keeping you in control.

Summarize customer feedback

Intelligence allows you to generate concise summaries for customer feedback and requests linked to an Insight. How it works
  • Summarization is manual. You choose when to generate or refresh a summary.
  • The summary is created based on the feedback, conversations, and requests linked to that Insight.
  • If the Insight is updated later, you can regenerate the summary by clicking the Intelligence icon.

  • Quickly understand the core problem without reading every message.
  • Capture recurring themes and customer intent clearly.
  • Share a high-level overview with stakeholders and delivery teams.

Auto-detect sentiment

Intelligence automatically detects the sentiment of an Insight based on the language used across linked feedback and conversations. Supported sentiments
  • Positive
  • Neutral
  • Negative

  • Identify frustrated or unhappy customers early.
  • Add emotional context when prioritizing work.
  • Balance roadmap decisions across fixes, improvements, and wins.

Auto-detect insight type

Intelligence automatically classifies the type of each Insight. Supported types
  • Feedback
  • Request
  • Bug
  • Praise
  • Idea

  • Filter and segment Insights more effectively.
  • Route bugs, requests, and ideas to the right workflows faster.

Enable auto-detection

Auto-detection for sentiment and insight type can be enabled from workspace settings. How to enable
  1. Click your workspace name in the top-left corner.
  2. Go to Settings → Intelligence.
  3. Enable Detect sentiment automatically and Detect type automatically.
Once enabled, Lane will automatically analyze Insights as they are created. If these options are not available for your workspace, you can request access by contacting [email protected].

Intelligence credits

Each Intelligence action consumes credits. What uses credits
  • Generating or refreshing a summary for an Insight
  • Detecting or re-evaluating sentiment
  • Detecting or re-evaluating Insight type
Managing your credits
  • You can view your available credits from Billing in your workspace settings.
  • If you do not see your credit usage or balance, contact [email protected] for assistance.
Credits ensure fair usage while allowing teams to apply Intelligence only where it adds value.

AI privacy and data usage

Lane takes data privacy seriously.
  • Lane does not use your data to train its own AI models.
  • Data processed for AI-powered features is shared only with trusted partners to deliver those features.
  • Your data is not used to train external models without permission.
To improve AI quality, Lane may use voluntary user feedback (such as thumbs up or down on AI outputs) or other explicit opt-in signals. If you have any questions or concerns, contact us at [email protected].

Q: Is summarization automatic?
A: No. Summaries are generated manually, giving you full control over when and how they are created.
Q: Can I edit AI-generated summaries, sentiment, or types?
A: Yes. All AI outputs can be reviewed and adjusted manually.
Q: Does Intelligence work on existing Insights?
A: Yes. Once enabled, Intelligence can be used on both existing and new Insights.
Q: Is Intelligence enabled by default?
A: No. Intelligence must be enabled explicitly from your workspace settings.
