Manage and control who can access your Lane workspace through the Members page. This is where you can invite new team members, view their access status, and manage billable seats.
Lane currently does not support role-based access control. All members have full access to the workspace by default. However, there are two implicit roles:
These members have been suspended from the workspace.
They cannot log in or perform any actions.
Any records or tasks assigned to them remain unchanged.
Best practice: Reassign their records to another Active member to maintain accountability.
The first user who creates the workspace is the Super Admin and cannot be suspended or marked as inactive. This ensures there is always at least one active owner for the workspace.
The number of Active members cannot exceed the number of billable seats.
If this limit is exceeded, extra members are automatically suspended at random.
To avoid this:
Track your seat usage under your billing settings.
Remove or deactivate unused accounts before inviting new members.
Q: What happens if I invite a user but don’t have a free seat available?
A: Once the invited user signs in, they will be automatically marked as Suspended if there are no available billable seats. You can free up a seat by suspending another active member.Q: Can I reassign records from an inactive member?
A: Yes. While records remain assigned to inactive members by default, it’s best to manually reassign them to ensure active ownership.Q: How do I increase my billable seat limit?
A: You can upgrade your plan or add more seats via your Billing settings in Lane.Q: Will removing an invited user free up a seat?
A: Invited users do not consume a seat until they sign in and are marked as Active.Q: Can I invite multiple members in one go?
A: Currently, you can only invite one member at a time. To invite multiple team members, repeat the invitation process for each individual.Q: How can I remove a member from an account?
A: At the moment, you cannot permanently remove a member from an account. However, you can suspend the member to revoke their access. Suspended users are retained for historical context and will continue to appear in records where they were previously mentioned or assigned.Q: I am unable to suspend a user or mark a user as In-active.
A: Super Admins cannot be marked as In-active. Please make sure the member you are trying to suspend is not the Super Admin (the first user who created the workspace).
