Priority score weights are workspace-level settings. Changes apply to all features in the workspace and are visible to all members.
How it works
Each feature’s priority score is calculated using five weighted components. The weights must add up to 100%. Lane normalizes the raw values across all features in your workspace and applies the weights to produce a score between 0 and 100.| Component | What it measures | Default weight |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue impact | Total revenue across all customers linked to the feature | 30% |
| Customer count | Number of unique customers who submitted feedback | 25% |
| Insight score | Combined score of all insights extracted from linked feedback | 20% |
| Strategic impact | How much the PM-assigned strategic importance influences the score | 15% |
| Feedback count | Total number of feedback submissions linked to the feature | 10% |
Configuring weights
- Click your workspace name in the top-left corner.
- Go to Settings → Priority Score.
- Adjust the weight for each component using the input fields.
- Verify that the total equals 100% — a green checkmark confirms the total is valid.
- Click Save to apply.
Resetting to defaults
Click Reset to defaults to restore the original weight distribution. You still need to click Save to apply the reset values. When to adjust weights
- Revenue-driven teams — increase Revenue Impact and Customer Count to surface features requested by high-value accounts.
- Volume-driven teams — increase Feedback Count to prioritize features with the most customer demand.
- Strategy-driven teams — increase Strategic Impact to give more weight to PM judgment alongside customer signals.
Setting any component to 0% removes it from the score calculation entirely. A warning appears for components with very low weights (under 5%) since they have minimal effect on the final score.
Automatic recalculation
Priority scores are recalculated automatically in two cases:- When you save new weights — all features are rescored immediately.
- When new feedback is processed — features linked to the updated insights have their scores refreshed.
